egg-in-a-burger

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 Dave’s Killer Bread Burger Buns Done Right™

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • ½ tsp. black pepper

  • ½ tsp. salt

  • 2 tsp. soy sauce

  • 1 tsp. onion powder

  • 1 tsp. garlic powder

  • 1 Tbsp. avocado oil

  • 4 eggs

  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 4 Tbsp. mayo, to serve

  • 4 leaves green leaf lettuce, to serve

  • 1 beefsteak tomato, sliced, to serve

Directions:

  1. Prepare burgers: to a large bowl mix together ground beef, pepper, salt, soy sauce, onion powder, and garlic. Mix until combined.

  2. Form burger patties onto a large cutting board. Use a small glass to cut holes into the center of the patties. Use burger “holes” to form another patty.

  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add avocado oil. Working in batches, add burgers and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Flip and crack an egg into the center of each burger. Sprinkle each burger with cheese. Cover with a tightly fitting lid and cook until egg is set, cheese is melted, and burger is cooked through, about 4-5 minutes.

  4. Serve burgers on buns spread with mayo and top with lettuce and tomato. Enjoy!
