Kimchi Philly Melt

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 Dave’s Killer Bread Sandwich Rolls Done Right  

  • ½ pound ribeye steak, thinly sliced 

  • 1 tsp. kosher salt  

  • ½ tsp. black pepper  

  • 1 Tbsp. avocado or olive oil  

  • ½ sweet onion, diced

  • 2 Tbsp. mayo 

  • 1 tsp. gochujang paste  

  • 1 Tbsp. butter  

  • 2-3 slices provolone cheese 

  • 2-3 Tbsp. kimchi  

  • 1 green onion, sliced 

Directions:

  1. Season sliced beef with salt and pepper. 

  2. Add oil to a cast iron skillet over high heat. Add beef and cook until beef is browned, about 4-5 minutes total, stirring frequently. Remove beef from skillet. 

  3. Reduce heat to medium and add onion. Sauté for 5-7 minutes, or until softened and golden. Return beef to skillet with onions and stir until warmed.  

  4. Remove skillet from heat and top with slices of provolone cheese to melt. 

  5. Prepare gochujang mayo by combining mayo and gochujang paste. Spread onto bottom of sandwich roll.  

  6. Top with beef, onion, and melty cheese.  

  7. Add kimchi and green onions and eat immediately – enjoy!  

  8. Optional: toast sandwich rolls in a 350F oven for 5 minutes prior to topping with ingredients.
